An Ode to Ring Slings

My very first carrier was a Little Frog Ring Sling. I used it when my baby was 4 days old, and I loved using it for about two weeks. Then the ring sling and I had a disagreement, and we didn’t talk for a couple months ( I’m sorry for leaving you Onyx, but I took to wrapping and didn't look back for a while!).

Later on, I started having this problem where my baby was too big to reach around him when I wore him on my front, “If only there was a way I could wear him out of my way a little bit.” DUH, RING SLING! We kissed, we hugged and I made up with my ring sling. We were best buds again. That thing got more use then my favorite bra!

My baby grew and grew and got to the point (about 22 pounds) where my trusty Little Frog was getting a little diggy (it is one of the thinner blends, the Little Frog Opal and Agate slings and linen blends are great for bigger babies).  I needed some color in my life and I was craving something a little more… DELIGHTFUL.

I introduce you to Tula Migaloo Delight!

The rainbow will seriously make your day! It’s bright enough to lighten up the room, and strike up conversation with random strangers, with enough sleepy dust to turn any cranky babe into a sleeping babe. Tula Migaloo Delight (like the other Tula cotton and tencel/cotton blends) is wide and medium thickness,  and it carries my chunk of a son on one shoulder with ease. Tightening the wider span of fabric through the rings took some getting used to, but the extra width does a great job of spreading the weight over my shoulder and across my back. All of these things are just icing on the cake.  You know I would rock this ring sling regardless of weight distribution just because…. THAT RAINBOW! This ring sling is no longer in stock, but it is similar in thickness and support and beauty to these Tula Ring Slings .
